Wondering what there is to sing about in the current Great Recession? Consider this: In 1933, Americans thumbed their nose at the Great Depression and declared in song, “We're in the Money”! Our brand-new cabaret presents 50 years of musical theater songs written to help us cope with the economy—from the witty “Rich is Better” to the stirring “Brother, Can You Spare a Dime?” The show was inspired by President Obama’s inaugural address, in which he advised Americans to “pick yourself up and dust yourself off”—lyrics first performed by Ginger Rogers in 1936.
