Lyricist Yip Harburg said, “Words make you think a thought. Music makes you feel a feeling. But a song makes you feel a thought. And that is the great advantage.”
One of the best things about musical theater is there are so many ways to enjoy it. The Musical Theater Project is excited to offer THREE performance platforms by which our audiences can experience the power of this unique American art form.
The Song Is You! Concert Series
Our larger performances showcase the finest theater songs while exploring the cultural and historical impact of musical theater as an American art form. Often referred to as a “docu–concert” or live documentary, each TMTP concert combines live performance with dozens of rare still images and video clips.
Rendezvous Cabaret Series: A Moveable Feast of Song
For a retro-hip experience, this benefit series features four sophisticated “club cabarets” in elegant venues throughout the Cleveland area. Held on four Friday nights, these evenings kick off with a cocktail hour, followed by a sit-down dinner and an intimate performance by outstanding local and New York acts.
Every year The Musial Theater Project provides opportunities for audiences to explore classic musical theater through different access points. Whether it’s a holiday show or a concert geared toward families with young children, these smaller-scale concerts offer something for everyone.
